Jim Meyer has been working with woodblock prints for the past 17 years. He started in commercial art — doing illustrations for advertising, design and publishing — and then began showing his prints in galleries. His aim is to make art that reflects the mystery and beauty of the creation. He feels his medium of choice, woodblock prints, is well suited for that purpose. “They are organic, low-tech and require the patience of the skilled manual arts,” he says. “Visually, they tend to be honest and strong.”
