The transition from ‘summertime resort’ to ‘winter wonderland playground’ is underway at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. The Lodge will be open for winter for the first time since it was built 75 years ago. Winter enthusiasts can enjoy the extraordinary beauty of Copper Harbor and the Lodge grounds enhanced with freshly fallen snow. The Lodge will be open 7 days a week, starting December 28th.

Cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, a toboggan run, an ice rink, snowboard terrain park and exciting weekend events will all be part of the winter fun!

Hundreds of wooded acres surround the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge allowing winter enthusiasts, of all levels, access many trail heads. This year the International Mountain Biking Association designated these beautiful trails as one of the World’s top 50 Epic Trails.

Thirteen kilometers of professionally groomed Nordic ski trails will be ready and waiting for ski enthusiasts. In addition, there will be over 25 KM of snowshoe trails ready to be explored.

An ice rink, sled hill and toboggan run will also be right outside the front door of the Lodge. Families and kids of all ages can play on the winter playgrounds then enjoy a hearty fireside meal prepared by the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge Staff.
Snowboarders will be especially excited to hear about the terrain park that is being designed for snowboarders of all ages and levels. It will be open to the public 7 days a week. The terrain park will be lit and allow for night snow boarding.

Mount Bohemia owner, Lonnie Glieberman, was especially excited about the terrain park as he felt the connection between the two properties create added value to visitors at each location. “We are excited for the terrain park to open at the mountain lodge this winter, it will give skiers and snowboarders an extra reason to stay up in Copper Harbor this winter and also it further helps position the Keweenaw as a premier destination area for Midwest skiers and snowboarders.”
