The report, "Wildlife Responses to Motorized Winter Recreation in Yellowstone, 2009 Annual Report," by Craig McClure, in collaboration with Dan Reinhart, P. J. White, Mary Donovan and Brian Teets, Yellowstone National Park, has been posted on Yellowstone's website http://www.nps.gov/yell/parkmgmt/winterusetechnicaldocuments.htm, under the heading 2008-2009 Monitoring Reports and Other Studies. The report provides information about wildlife monitoring in Yellowstone last winter.
If you choose to review the document, the Park Service requests that you focus on providing substantive, technical comments about the report. To allow them to provide timely comments to the report's authors, they ask that comments on the report be returned by September 25, 2009.
Staff from Yellowstone National Park will address or incorporate all comments into a final report that will be produced in autumn 2009. They expect to issue a web-accessible copy of the final report to the public, along with responses to comments that detail how the authors addressed specific concerns. The responses will explain the authors’ agreement or disagreement, actions taken in response to comments, and the reasons they believe those actions satisfy any key concerns or recommendations.
Comments should be directed to: yell_winter_use@nps.gov or to Management Assistant, Yellowstone National Park, P.O. Box 168, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming 82190.
