New models, new colors and graphics, and new developments in cross country ski equipment roll out every year. And this year is no exception. It would be impossible to bring you every nuance of product innovation by every major equipment manufacturer without filling half the magazine with columns of sizes, flexes, bases, colors and unending claims of superiority.
Frankly that does not make for very interesting reading. Rather than bore you with information that may not mean a lot to you, Cross Country Skier brings you the highlights about selected new products or those delivering truly significant innovations or changes for the coming season. More information is available, of course, on each manufacturer’s website.
Our goal is to pique your curiosity so that, if you are in the market for new gear, you may begin your research slightly better informed when you walk into your local ski shop to talk with a sales rep. This is the best way to approach equipment – you need to see it, feel it and hear about it from those in the know. To that end, we have visited with the manufacturers at the annual Snowsports Industries America trade show, heard what they had to say and gathered feature and benefit information, specs and photos. We have selected representative products of new lines or improved versions and distilled some of the information into a streamlined, succinct presentation. If you require additional information, please contact Cross Country Skier or visit the manufacturer’s website.
You will find many, many photos of new equipment in our photo gallery.
