“We want to encourage people to come and ski and to make it as easy as possible to enjoy the trails,” says Pete Molnar, president of the Larch Hills Nordics in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. With 906 members, Larch Hill Nordics is the third-largest Nordic ski club in the province. “That’s down a bit from last year,” Molnar notes, when the club had 982 paid members.

Club membership comes primarily from the Salmon Arm area and the Okanagan valley, and includes a lot of young families, which supports a strong JackRabbit program (Canada’s equivalent of the Bill Koch Youth Ski League)that numbered 118 last year. Larch Hills Nordics has several levels
